Stuart is happy to advise on any aspect of commissioning glass by phone, email or through an arranged studio visit, so please get in contact via this Contact Form or on 07880 861058.
You do not have to be local to Bristol or the south west to commission a window.
HOW MUCH DOES A WINDOW COST?
As a guide, a price structure ranging from £70 a square foot to £260 a square foot is used + delivery and fitting.
Projects can also be designed around a client’s fixed budget.
Stained glass windows vary from simple leaded lights made up of rectangles / to intricately made panels with many small pieces which are painted and kiln fired with special glass paints. This is reflected in the cost.
HOW TO COMMISSION
The first things to establish are the approximate size of the window, door panels or fanlight, it’s location, and any ideas or themes the client has. Sometimes a framed piece is commissioned to hang in a window.
From here Stuart can provide an estimate for the work and a quotation can be issued in writing. If the client is happy to proceed then a deposit of £50 is paid which allows design work to begin.
Once the client is happy with the scale design, the making of the window can begin and a second payment is made to allow this. A third and final payment is then made on completion and delivery.
