Project Info

project summary
this window is situated in what was a previously bricked up entrance. The church minister had the idea to open this up, creating a functional glazed entrance with double doors, that open onto a substantial disabled access ramp made from larch. Located in an adjoining room to the main church, the space is used by the local community and after school play scheme. Stuart ran workshops with the play scheme and three local junior and infant schools. The children's ideas and drawings fed into the design process, with several of their self portraits transposed directly into the glass.

The quirky nature of the imagery is alive with activity, and colour resonates against colour, producing a raised three dimensional quality to the glass in places.
