Brecon Beacons in December

My friend and I had planned to arrive in the Brecons early enough to catch the winter sunrise and we were not disapointed to arrive on the summit of Pen y Fan and Corn Du in slowly drifting mist over ice covered surfaces. The light was beautiful. It was bitterly cold and as the day unfolded we worked our way round the horseshoe and back to our starting point by late afternoon. I remember being very tired on the descent!
